Geesh, what is it with all the organizations freaking us out this April Fool’s Day?

Via Juvenilia, we see this from NARAL’s newsletter today:

SENATOR SANTORUM NOW CLAIMS LIFE BEGINS WITH SEDUCTIVE GLANCE

PITTSBURGH, PA - When does life begin? That debate took an odd twist this week when anti-choice Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA) stated that he had evidence that life begins much sooner than previously thought. “My research indicates that when a woman glances seductively at a man, she is setting in motion a series of social and biological events that eventually lead to fertilization,” he said.

And this from Greenpeace, which I totally believed when I read it last night, until I reached the bottom and the joke was revealed. What does that tell you about my fear and loathing of Monsanto?

Monsanto secret research: exposed!

(From a “leaked” Monsanto internal document: “I’ve just heard that the science boys up at the Michigan research center have finally hit pay dirt! They’ve isolated a gene they are calling “DISSENT.” … The white coats at Mason had been testing a new Skepticism Inhibitor on rats… Obviously, these findings have huge implications for Monsanto. Armed with products based on silencing of the DISSENT gene, we finally have the chance to become the top purveyor of ‘automatic compliance’ products worldwide…”
