working again!
Hell yeah, I’m back.
I returned from Glacier Park a week ago to find that I had unintentionally exceeded my disk space on my server, oh, around the evening of the previous Saturday (Sept. 4). So not only did I not receive about five days worth of e-mails (which, if there had been disk space, would’ve been sitting happily on my server waiting for me), but my whole MT comments database was royally corrupted. I lost about a week’s worth of comments, including all the comments on the Cure show, thoughts on the RNC, Olympics, etc. That wouldn’t have been so bad if after restoring some disk space, comments worked going forward, but they didn’t.
So I wiped my whole MT clean (saving my template code, of course) and installed MT 3.1. I even installed the new version of MT Blacklist to deal with comment spam. The two things I can’t figure out are: 1)how to get TypeKey working right, and 2)how to set up my blog file extensions as php (it’s not working to just enter “php” within MT config), but I’m not going to worry about those things for now. Comments work again! Later today I’ll catch up with what’s been going on in life outside Movable Type.
