She comes first

Via LaDiDa, this terrific article by Ian Kerner, sexologist: Hard Times: How Viagra and its Competitors are Re-shaping the American Bedroom and Destroying Female Pleasure. In it, he argues that Viagra is one of the worst things to happen to female sexual pleasure:

Prior to the pharmaceutical treatment of impotence, couples dealt with the issue through intimacy-building exercises, erotic creativity and communication. Couples were encouraged to spend more time on desire-building activities - communication, foreplay, fantasy, manual and oral stimulation. Men were encouraged to get beyond their penises and make love with more of their selves. The irony is that while these activities didn’t always lead to consistent erections, they did often result in greater intimacy, stronger relationships, increased desire and, yes, more female orgasms.

Lots of great analysis and advice in this post also: Think Outside Her Box.
