Happy Earth Day! Portland is beautiful today - so green and warm and bright. It’s seriously like fairy tale land weather-wise. There is an ice cream truck that comes round to my neighborhood on days like today and it tinkles out tunes like “Maple Leaf Rag” and “Music Box Dancer”. Hearing them reminds me of that great scene in that bad movie Ishtar where Warren Beatty is driving the ice cream truck, dinging the bell, so involved with making up a song out loud that he’s totally oblivious to the kids running alongside the truck flagging him down to stop and sell them some ice cream:

Hot fudge love
Cherry ripple kisses
Lip-smacking, black-slapping
Perfectly delicious

I love that song.
