gratitude

I have misgivings about this holiday and its origins:

As many of you are aware, The official U.S. “Thanksgiving” is observed by many indigenous people and allies as the National Day of Mourning. Some may not be aware of the history behind that.

I will take the opportunity to give thanks, however:

…for my mom, who unfortunately is spending her favorite holiday in Mt. Pleasant Mental Health Institute. I’m thankful for her bravery, creativity and lovingness
…for my boyfriend, Jeremy, for his affection and partnership
…for friends near and far, laughter and conversation
…for art and music and dance and film and literature and poetry
…for the gigantic magnificent awesome power and beauty of nature
…for how very privileged I am that I can go eat a big dinner at my boyfriend’s parents’ house and sit around afterwards and play cards
…for the inspiring fact that every day in every way people all over the world are making a difference for life on earth

Hope you have a restful holiday surrounded with good folk.

Thank you for this wonderful list of gratitudes. I too have misgivings, if you will, about this holiday.
Your list is remarkably close to mine, thanks for sharing it.
