Halloween costumes

We had a pleasant little Halloween this year, just heading out with friends for dinner and drinks. We went around the table sharing our most memorable Halloween costumes ever. Mine is 1993’s, senior year of high school, when I went to the big local university Halloween ball as Robert Smith of The Cure. Ha! I had no fewer than 10 college students come up to me and recognize who I was - such validation!
I was Smith circa 1985, when he wore black suits with white high top sneakers. I teased my hair up, filled my eyebrows in darker, heavily powdered my face, smeared on red lipstick, and drew a cleft in my chin with an eyeliner pencil. Of course, looking at the photo now, I don’t think I really looked a thing like him, more like the caricature of him. Here’s the photo: on the right is my friend, Satu, who I think was supposed to be vampire punk or something.
What was your most memorable costume ever?

When my obsession with Courtney Love was at its peak, I put on some ripped panyhose, curled and teased my hair into a knot, put lipstick on outside of the lip lines, and donned a slipdress. Then my dead promgirl friend and I rode around on a moped all night and drank Mad Dog 20/20 until curfew. Summer of 1995.

HAHA! M@, my gay friend, went as Robert Smith! I was so happy! I told him you would be proud. He, however, wore a tee shirt under a white suitjacket and slicked his black hair up into that trademark stab of hair Robert Smith had in the front there. It was pleasing.
My most memorable costume was when I was a girl scout and my mom dressed me all in green, painted my face brown and cut a big yellow flower shape out of cardboard to go around my face and called me a daisy. LOL hey! I won the best costume award that year and won a backpack! woohoo!

That was for sure this year. I put a lot of thought and effort into my costume, and went out as LEGO pirate. I got compliments from friends and strangers alike, and even an invite to a random party while waiting for a ride to a party I was going to. Just to show off
