Cure cover band on Halloween anyone?

I realize this is a shot in the dark with my typical readership, but if you’re in the northwest, like the music of The Cure, and are not doing anything for Halloween, there’s a terrific cover band playing in Seattle that night at the Crocodile Cafe. Apparently, they’re on a triple bill with a tribute to Depeche Mode and Ants Invasion, a tribute to Adam Ant. Heh!

I’ve seen the Xploding Boys once before and they’re very true (they play the cool shit too, like “Plainsong”). A swell, fellow linguistics-lover, Cedric, is on drums as usual and the newest member, Ashkelon Sain (formerly of the terrific Trance to the Sun), is on vocals and guitar. Maybe we’ll go; it’d be better than sitting around like I’ve done the past few Halloweens. Oh, passing out at the Gwar show in Chicago Halloween ‘96 seems so long ago…
