weekend recap
This weekend has been insanely busy and the time has passed extremely quickly. Jeremy returned from his two week trip Friday night (reunited and it feels so good!) and we stayed up late talking and looking at the hundreds of Minnesota family pictures he took on his mom’s digital camera and loaded up into his laptop.
Yesterday morning we hit the KBOO annual book and music sale where I picked up Liv Ullmann’s autobiography, Changing, a two-disc collection of Henry Mancini’s greatest and Camus’ The Plague, which I intend to enjoy as much as I did The Stranger when I was 17.
We then did a huge catching-up grocery shopping and came home so he could study for his GRE he’s taking Wednesday and I could give the fridge a long overdue scrubbing (wheee!). We later talked over the London research I had done in his absence, I made tuna steaks and steamed veggies and we hit the couch to watch “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” on DVD, which I had already seen numerous times but Jeremy hadn’t.
Today we awoke in time to watch a Rick Steves special on PBS on the Heart of England at 9 AM. Then over to his parents’ house where we ate eggs and pancakes and talked England and removed the most stubborn splinter of my life. At 1:00, we headed to Ben and Heather’s and played The Real Game of Life board game for several hours and now we’re home, where Jer is continuing to study for the GRE and I am catching up on e-mails, laundry and burning a few CDs to ship to my mom.
I can’t believe we’re leaving for the big trip in a little more than two weeks. So much to do!
