Sites like Celebs Without Makeup are great and there should be many more of them. Like the before-and-after airbrushing link that was making the rounds a few weeks ago, we all need a reality check in this world of primped, made-up, skinny, plastic, well-lighted, painted, and Photoshopped images of people. I was disappointed, however, that there are hardly any men listed (Howard Stern and RuPaul seem to be the only two). Celebrity men are coiffed and applied with foundation also! To accompany the link, here’s the MetaFilter discussion thread on it.

I confess I took special glee at the no-makeup shots of Cameron Diaz and Nicole Kidman in particular. I like that these women look no better or worse than most women we encounter day to day on the sidewalk or in our offices. I just wish the whole world realized this.
