beating the Bush
Greens Consider Standing Behind Democrats in ‘04. This actually relieves me. Although I am really outraged that in such a “great democracy”, we still have only two parties with any real power and although I strongly align myself with Nader’s and the Greens’ values, I am just too freaked out the Greens could siphon off votes from the Democrats, allowing Bush to win. When you’re up against such a potent “evil”, the lesser doesn’t look so bad. (link via Uncommon Thought)

“Our President went to war and all we got was this rotten Economy”??? What kind of crap is that? Bush is not the kind of person I want leading this country but if the people at Stop Bush in 2004 want me to ally with them in their fight they’re gonna have to grow a brain and quit creating posters that say idiotic crap on them. Puh-lease. Intelligent information somebody???
The one thing I hate more than anything, ANYTHING, is negative campaigning. In any form by any party (and I don’t just mean politically.) I don’t want to hear what the other can’t, didn’t or won’t do for me, I want to hear what you CAN.
That site offended me. And I don’t offend easily. It makes Bush Protestors look deperate, petty and stupid.

hrm… I don’t know. The problem I have with negative campaigning is when it is misrepresenting your opponent. Which, admittedly, is usually what it is. But when there’s something important to draw attention to in order to illustrate the need for change, I like it then. I don’t think there’s been enough fighting and clawing and scraping. I just want it to be done more honorably.
