TV Turnoff Week

Hey folks, it’s TV Turnoff Week! I’m not even going to enter into an argument that everything about TV is bad, but I think if you’re someone that watches more than a few hours a week, it’s really worthwhile to see what it would be like to go a week without. I think the excessive TV watching Americans do is one of the biggest squanderings of human potential of our time. All that free time, personal interaction, and creativity down the (boob) tubes.

I do watch movies, but we have fewer than six TV channels and I don’t watch more than about two hours of TV a month (usually some nature thing Jeremy has on Discovery or part of some weird late night local cable access show). I don’t really have any desire to watch most of the shows I hear about, and I can’t really stomach 90% of commercials anymore.
