ads before movies

I am so glad to hear about these lawsuits filed today and I hope they win out. I have been convinced for years that it’s a completely rude and blasphemous practice on theaters’ part to charge us, what, $9 for a ticket price?, and then force-feed us to up to five minutes of commercials before the film. It’s one thing to watch previews, which I’ve always loved, but Coke and Ford commercials? Uh, that’s a main reason I don’t watch TV. And so I really don’t want to have to sit through ads before a movie. I swear, when big business grabs into our pockets and our time, why do we, for the most part, accept it and grow accustomed to the invasion of it as if we have no other choice?

hm. i’m thinking that they’re going to lose those cases, but maybe there is some sort of law about charging people to watch commercials when the theatre itself is being PAID to air the commercials that i don’t know about. i don’t think their charge of the movies not starting on time is where they’re going to win this one at though.
