Just plowed through
Heavier Than Heaven: A Biography of Kurt Cobain
in the last 36 hours. I’ve always been a Nirvana and Kurt fan, but probably not enough to warrant reading this bio. However, a few weeks ago at Powells, I flipped through Cobain’s newly released Journals and was really blown away at how interesting he was. So I got the bio out of the library.

The book offers great insights into his childhood, songs and relationships, in particular. It contains many snippets from his journals, lyrics, and letters he wrote, and I am still reeling at what an incredible writer Cobain was - his imagination and skill with metaphors. That such an unusual and distinctive voice could come out of redneck America - whoa.

I am finding that in life so much. People are truly surprising. That whole first impression crap? That keeps each and every one of us from knowing some absolutely unfathomable human beings.

Hey! Merry Christmas! Happy Holidays! I hope everyone is somewhere where they feel safe and loved. That is my fondest wish.
