I am feeling a week-end wrap up coming on!

  • “The Two Towers” is stupendous - caught it noon on Wednesday. The character of Aragorn shines in this installment, the cgi effect of Gollum is unbelievably convincing, and the battle at Helms Deep has to be the best sequence of its kind ever caught on film. Three hours fly by! Check out the film’s website linked above for intriguing videos that expose the secrets behind the special effects.
  • Worked most of this week, but I have ALL of next week off (office closed for the holidays). That’s when I’ll really feel like I’m on vacation. I’ve been busily redesigning my company’s website and pretty pleased with what I’ve got down. I’d give you a sample, but then I’d have to kill you.
  • Above any other time, I’m loathe to admit the holidays bring out the consumer in me. I’m not talking “buy what you need to live” consumerism, I’m referring instead to “oh it’s the time of year to treat myself to Christmas presents!….on my credit card!”. Ack! Received my Mary Kay package from Kari-Ann with lip stuff and body wash. I went a little nuts at The Body Shop the other day buying body butters and aromatherapy oils. Also, I’ve been hoarding $75 in Nordstrom’s gift cards someone gave me a bit ago and I finally schlepped down there this week. Their clothes are too expensive, so I headed toward the makeup counters and spent $24 off the gift card on a Stila plum lip glaze. Last but not least, I caved in and bought the 4 DVD “Fellowship of the Ring” set. That’ll suck some time.
  • I finally got that cold everyone else has already had. I am sneezing approximately every fifteen minutes and my eyes look like shit.
  • Heard from my ex-bf/good friend, Oliver, that he’ll be in the Seattle area the last week of the year. Amazing. He’s been in the Navy for years, but we’ve managed to keep in touch via e-mail and phone. I hope to meet up with him the weekend of the 28th - it’ll be the first time seeing each other in over 5 years. Naturally, I have jitters not unlike those that people get before high school reunions and such. Oliver and I have quite a bit of history together.

Looking forward to some r&r - music, books, constant tea drinking, cuddling, and walks.
