Strangechord

I sat thinking the other morning about how late to the game I was to pick up a number of common activities. I’m pretty sure I was a really bright kid, but took a while in the following departments:

• learned to ride a bike at 9, years after my friends
  
• flicked a lighter for the first time as a teenager; didn’t light a match successfully until I was 19 (unexplained fear of fire prevented both earlier on)
  
• had my first date at 18 (that’s embarassing to admit)
  
• held my silverware little kid-style (gripping utensil in fist) until one exhausting night when I was 10 and got the “correct” way yelled into me
  
• blew my first bubble gum bubble at 9 (is that late?)
  
• took first college class at 22
  

I’m sure there’s more…I’m sure I thought of more the other morning.
