Let’s take a second…

I am sick of government bashing. Yeah, there are SO MANY things we would all change. It’s interesting how so few people vote, since everyone has so many opinions on how it should be.
I want to ask a question, though. After everything, would you rather be born in Afghanistan or America? Really. We have so many possibilities being citizens of this country and we take for granted almost ALL of them. Yes, we do! Think of the toilet you piss in and the mirror you check your makeup in and the water you wash your hands with. Think of the warmth of your furnace and the car that gets you places….or the bus or the train! Think of the people you see every day who smile at you, who help you when you need help. Think of the choices of food that you eat and the myriad of products available for you every day. Think of the elections we get to hold to decide what this country is going to do about things and who is going to lead us there. Think of the indomitable military force whose vigilance 24 hours a day keeps you safe and warm and free.
Now think of the people who have none of this. Who have nothing. Who live in fear for their lives every day. I can understand their distrust and their anger. I can understand even their hate. What I can’t understand is why people complain so much in THIS country. If you want something changed go change it. I mean it. GO CHANGE IT. Create a structure for change in your world. And love the way it IS, as well as the way it will be. Because, as Guru Dev once said, ” All is well and rightly put…”
