Epitonic
I am going to let you in on the most miraculous little secret I have come across online this week: Epitonic.com. The gods of free music have smiled upon me as they are often inclined to do, and bestowed upon us all this classy site FULL of free mp3 downloads from an incredibly wide range of artists. Epitonic seems to specialize mainly in Indie Rock, all forms of Electronic, has quite the Experimental section, and other genres include Hip Hop, Folk, Punk, and Jazz. The site features “charts” in each category, a radio station into which you can set your genre preferences, and each artist has their own page complete with bio, message board, similar artist listing, and anywhere from 1-10 full song downloads. How does Epitonic differ from MP3.com? Well, it seems to focus mainly on established acts and is a much cleaner, friendlier site. I dunno…just more appealing to use.
