weekend at the coast

Jeremy and I are headed to Newport on the coast this weekend. We’ll be staying for two nights at the Sylvia Beach Hotel, a giant, rambling beach house where each room is in the theme of a particular author. Tomorrow night we’ll be in the Emily Dickinson room and Sunday night will be spent in the Herman Melville room. Sort of a yin-yang thing I reckon. The hotel is right on the ocean, offers communal breakfasts and dinners, and boasts a huge attic stuffed with couches and chairs, a fireplace, puzzles, windows, and omnipresent tea and coffee to create the perfect reading and writing atmosphere.

I am completely looking forward to the r&r of the next 10 days. I just finished up my summer o’ Biology yesterday with the 103 final exam and it is time to chill out.

I just read the description of the Sylvia Beach Hotel and checked out all the cool rooms, and it looks absolutely intriguing. What a neat idea. I hope you two are having the most relaxing time!
