PlathOnline.com, etc…
I’m really proud of myself - I finally redesigned PlathOnline.com (my other hobby site) and put up a weblog there. It’s basically a Plath news blog and I look forward to its development. If you are a fan of Sylvia Plath and ever come across articles or snippets about anything pertaining to her, please e-mail me! The Plath biopic starring Gwyneth Paltrow will probably break next year and I expect to get a surge in traffic up through its premiere, so I figured it’s a perfect time to start the weblog. As it is, PlathOnline gets about 300 hits a day. Check it out if you haven’t already and read a few of her poems. She was brilliant.
In other webmastery news, I posted yet another new photo series - Powell Butte. I took these shots of the nearby wilderness area last weekend and had a lot of fun playing with them tint-wise. You’ll notice some sepia, black and white, and blue-tinged effects on some of the pics.
Holiday weekend ahead, minus the holiday feel. I have to get cranking on two Biology 103 projects due in two weeks (1. red kangaroo; 2. whiplash). One respite will be going out on the town Saturday night with my friend Rachael, who recently wandered into Portland with her boyfriend, Darius. Rachael and I met at age 13 and stayed close friends until we were about 21 or so and drifted our separate ways. She’s been traveling the country willy-nilly for the past few years and just now happened to make it out to the Northwest.
Lastly and worth mentioning, Caterina today posts a delicious list of links to various sketchbooks online. Corey Jackson’s sketchbook and city concept layouts are my favorites - his work is jaw-dropping. It comes very close to how I would love to draw if I had the talent.
