I’m not dead

It has not even occurred to me to blog in the last six months until this morning when thought of posting the work party I’m doing with the Nature Conservancy of Oregon next weekend. The work party is at a preserve TNC bought last year that is almost 43 square miles and has huge numbers of birds. It is also cool because the preserve isn’t that far from where I used to work in Idaho when I was a field biologist based out of Cottonwood, ID.

Given I haven’t blogged in a long time there is a lot I could mention, but the two items that are coming to mind are the big garden we are putting in and that I have completed 30 grad credits and I need 60 for a Masters of Environmental Management.

Actually, I lied, it did occur to me to blog a couple of times, but I avoided doing so out of not wanting to look bad; because what I’m doing right now is not very interesting to non-techies. I’m working as unix and nt system administrator and taking grad courses on Oracle database administration and another course on Geographic Information Systems. Speaking of grad classes, I need to start studying for my Oracle class.

Also, Emily please remember to leave your cell phone or at least check your messages. Because your Soc. class has been cancelled this evening and you might waste two hours waiting for a class that is not happening tonight. If you did wait the two hours, I guess this will be a reminder have your cell phone on and keeping it charged :-) .
